PowerPoint data charts switching?

Niki

This is so strange! For the life of me, I can't figure out how this is
happening, and hope that someone can shed some light for me.

Imagine a 20 slide PPT. The first slide is a bullet slide and every other
slide is a data chart slide (either line chart or bar chart), then bullet
slide, data slide, etc. All data chart slides have been created in
PowerPoint (not embedded from Excel, etc.).

Everything is fine until slide 14, which should be a bar chart, shows up
with the correct slide title, but with the contents from slide 18 (a single
line chart). If I double click on the data chart portion of slide 14 which
is showing the incorrect single line chart, it SWITCHES to the correct bar
chart data. Several data chart slides are doing this. This happened to a
coworker of mine. All charts were created in PowerPoint 2002.

Has anyone heard of this and if so, how did it happen??

Thanks,

Niki

That's a new one. If I were you, I'd first make a copy or two of the file and
put it someplace safe. It sounds as though something's gone corrupt.

Next, roundtripping the file to HTML and back. There are various ways of doing
this, but the simplest is to use the PPTools StarterSet ... it's a free addin
at http://starterset.pptools.com

After installing it, Ctrl+CLICK the help button (? icon) on the toolbar. It'll
roundtrip the file for you automatically.

This can sometimes clear up corrupt files.
