PowerPoint 97 - flexible slide numbering?

Is there any way that I can control the page number while
doing automatic page numbering on ppt 97?

For example, I want the first 10 slides to be numbered 1-
10, then the next ten to also be numbered 1-10 while
keeping the automatic page numbering. Also, is there a
way that I can skip page numbers, such as jumping from
page 5 to page 9 with two consecutive slides?

No, page numbering is consecutive. However, there is not that says you
can't manually number the pages any ole way you want with textboxes. The
other way would be to make separate presentations and link them using the
method described at
