PowerPoint 2007 - Sounds does not play continously over several sl

I have read over all the simular questions and have done all the things that
were described. I have added the sound to the first slide and I want to play
it over 40 slides. I have timed all my slides to transition automatically.
However, the song from the first slides keeps starting from the beginning
whenever a slide changes. What is wrong? Thanks for your help

Evelyn,
My guess is that if the music is restarting with each slide you must have
applied the sound to the transition and clicked Apply to All.

Maybe remove it from the transition task pane by applying none and hitting
Apply to all.
The insert the sound using Insert - Sound - Sound from file.

Thank you Luc.

Now I have another problem. I inserted the second track on slide 33. With
the second track I again answered the custom animation effects to start at
the beginning and stop after 999 slides.
Restarting the slide presentation, the first song plays to slide 32;
however, the second songs does not start playing on/after slide 33. After I
wait a while, the first song repeats as the slide show progresses. What is
wrong now?
