PowerPoint 2007 PlaceHolder Stop Autoadjusting to picture

How do I stop powerpoint from auto adjusting its place holder size to the
picture I paste or insert. I want the picture to adjust to the size of the
place holder. This was not a problem in PP 2003. Am I missing something?

PPT 2007 has a new type of placeholder called a Picture Placeholder. You can
add it to a layout (create your own layout, then add the picture placeholder
to it) in View | Slide Master. Picture Placeholders won't resize the way a
content placeholder does when you add a picture.

So I did as you advised. I setup a 11x17 slide with a picture placeholder.
I snap a chart on a 24" monitor (1900x1200) resolution. But when it pastes
into the placeholder, the right side of the picture is cropped by PP. How
do I stop this from happening? Basically I want PP to squeeze the picture
into my placeholder any which way it pleases w/o cutting out any part.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Did you read my response in the other thread? About using "tile picture"?

Sorry, your post just showed up for me finally yesterday just before I
posted that response. I realize now that I posted the response in the other
thread after you posted in this one. Apologies for the confusion!
