Powerpoint 2007 not saving files, any ideas why?

Just installed owerpoint 2007 last week and spent hours making a slideshow
for work. Got to saving and saved it on 2 separate keydrives and the hard
drive only to discover that it hadn't saved at all.
Have downloaded service pack 2 and the other suggested hotfix. They did not
sort the saving issues.
Any ideas?

Do a search on the harddrive for *.PPT files. It's not there at all? That's
a first...
