Powerpoint 2007 much much slower than PP03 (same computer, same OS

Hello.
I did not want to stay behind, so I purchased Office07 and installed it on
my PC. It's a P4, 1.7GH, 512Mb, not a monster I know, but Office 03 was
running just fine on it.

Unfortunately Office 07 is much slower, Excel macros, time to open a .doc in
Word, etc. I gave up, because I think that Office 07 offers more
functionality.

However PP is really too slow. When I draw a line, i need to do this blindly
because it takes 2 seconds to see anything on the screen. On top of this,
lines cannot be moved to the pixel as it was possible before, by holding down
the ctrl key... What's going on????

Is there a settings that I missed.

FYI, my commit charge at this moment (while running PP07 and 2 IE8 windows)
is 332480Kb over 523696Kb ie 196600Kb are still available!...

Thank you.

Hi Stefano

The first thing I would do is check you have a 'good' local printer driver
installed. I know it sounds a little crazy but '07 is *really* fussy about
printer drivers:

Hello,
Actually I need to correct myself below about a small detail: instead of the
ctrl key, I used the alt key to resize a line to the pixel... So this works,
but it's still very very slow.
So I am going to check both recommendations below (print and graphics card
drivers) and let you know.
Thank you.

In addition to those things, I'd say more RAM is always a good investment.
Adding at least another 512MB to bump it to 1G should help. If you can get
to 2G RAM, I think your system will run much faster.
