Powerpoint 2007 hyperlinks

Linda

I am trying to embed one hyperlink on one slide. The link goes to an internal
company intranet; however, I had troube pasting the Web address into the .ppt
hyperlink address box and had to manually type it. The link is not active -
no underline, nothing to click. What did I do wrong, and how do I fix this?
Thanks!

I am not quite sure how your hyperlink looks like but let me tell you another
way you can make it work.

Create any shape you would like(button shape to make it more user friendly).
You can edit it, add text etc. Once the button is created click on the
"Hyperlink" button on the "links" tab.

A "insert hyperlink" window should appear and then just copy and paste your
address. When you are playing your show and you click on the button it should
re-direct you to another page.

Let me know if this helps.

Does the link work in slide show view? You have to test links there -- they
don't work in normal editing view.

Also, whether the hyperlink is underlined or not depends on what was
selected when you added the link. In your case, that doesn't sound like the
issue, but it might be. So try this to see the difference:

1. Type some text into a placeholder or textbox.

2. Select the textbox -- that is the box itself, not just the text. In fact,
to ensure you've selected the box, you can select text, then click ESC on
your keyboard to select the actual shape.

3. Insert Hyperlink. Type or paste the URL into the hyperlink address area
and OK your way out.

Test the link in Slide Show View.

Now a different test.

1. Type some text into a placeholder or textbox.

2. Select the text.

3. Insert Hyperlink. Type or paste the URL into the hyperlink address area
and OK your way out.

The text will be underlined, indicating a hyperlink. You must go to Slide
Show View to actually test the link.

Does that help at all?
