PowerPoint Powerpoint 2007 autocorrect with formatted text

In older versions, when using autocorrect to change "dhf" to a capital greek delta, followed by a capital H, then subscript f, was easy. All I had to do was copy and paste the formatted entry straight into the autocorrect window. However with 2007, when I do this, the formatting is lost and my f is no longer subscript. what can i do?
