PowerPoint 2003 jpeg Background

I have downloaded an image from the Microsoft templates web site, its just a
jpeg and inserted it as my background on slide 1 and added text. It looks
great on the screen but when print previewing - image does not appear and
does not print, only the text on a white background. Any ideas?

Yes, that seemed to work, however print preview is still in black and white,
even though it states color. Thanks for your help.
