Powerpoint 2003 crashes when using presentation saved with 2007

When I use powerpoint 2007 and save my presentation in 2003 format but then
open it in powerpoint 2003, powerpoint 2003 crashes (fatally) after a short
period of time. Any ideas

Do you get any error messages when it crashes? If you look in the details of
the error message, does that give any clues?

Does it crash on the same slide each time?

If you boot into Safe Mode and try it, does it still crash?

No error message. Just says Powerpoint has to close. Doesn't occur with same
slide.

If you boot into Safe Mode and it doesn't happen there, it usually indicates
a driver issue. In that case,
I'd try turning hardware acceleration down:

And ultimately try to update the video card / graphics card drivers, too.
