Two questions:

How do I embed, not link, music into a presentation? I understand that only
..wav music can be embedded & that is what I have.

When I linked the music it played fine, but now when I link the .wav it
won't play at all.

Any suggestions would really be appreciated. Thanks

Having a WAV is the first step. The second step is setting the settings
to makes sure that files of the size you want will be embedded. Go to
the Tools menu and choose Options. On the General tab, look for "Link
sounds with file size greater than..." Set that number to 50000 (fifty
thousand). That is the largest it goes. With that said, if your file is
smaller than about 50MB it should be embedded. Just remember that you
have to delete and re-insert it after you change the setting.

How can I adjust the timing each slide lasts before going to the next? With
all of the playing around I've been doing I must have hit something I
shouldn't have. The first slide is several seconds long, but then the rest
are approx. 1 second.

Also, how do I put it on the web in order to email it to someone? This is
why I needed to embed the music instead of just linking it.

First question, adjust the timeing in one slide. (Take PP 2007 for
example)
1. Click Animation in the menu.
2. Then in the tab of Transition to This Slide you will see
"Advance Slide" item, please unlick "On Click" and tick
"Automatically After:" and input the seconds (1 or more) you want the
slide to last.

I think Phtar answered your timing question. However, keep in mind that
timing with sounds can be tricky.

Once the sound is embedded, being able to email the file to someone
depends on your email program as well as your email limits. But if you
have Web space, you can simply upload the file to the Web. Some others
will be able to run it within their browsers, and others will be able to
download it.

You might also check out Austin's free PFCExpress add-in for PowerPoint
(http://www.playsforcertain.com/expressdesc.htm) which simplifies the
process of emailing PowerPoints.

wonderful. I think I can get this accomplished now. Or you'll be hearing
from me again. Anyway, both of you have a very Merry Christmas! And thanks

Yes, the timing seems to be very tricky. I have PowerPoint 2002. On the
menu I clicked on "slide show" then "slide transition". Under "advanced
slide" I unchecked "on mouse click" & checked "automatically after" & entered
15 seconds. There is a button underneath I clicked "apply to all slides".
Now only the first slide shows for the entire song. When I went back in &
put the seconds back to "0" I still have the same problem. Any ideas???
