powerpoint 2002 freezes when inserting a special character

Hi,

I'm experiencing a problem on french Powerpoint 2002 (XP) : it freezes when
inserting a special character.
it does it on every profile on this windows 2000 computer.
i renamed both current user and local machine registry (powerpoint part)
i renamed the powerpoint directory in the current profile.
application is at 100% and im obliged to end the task.
there's a network printer set as default.

its fixed now. you can delete my post
