Powerpoint 2000 chart question

I have a powerpoint presentation that I need to add many charts to from an
Excel 2000 workbook each chart is on a different tab of the workbook.

When I try to insert object in powerpoint it links the workbook but I do not
see how to designate the sheet. So if I make two links they both show only
the last tab I viewed the excel sheet in.

Go at it from the other direction.

Select the content you want in Excel, then Ctrl+C to copy it.
Switch to PPT and choose Edit, Paste Special, Link
