How do I change my default security setting to "power
user?"

Also, please assist me with the following message as I try
to install a certificate.

Note to Windows 2000 users: If you do not see a green
rectangle containing download information immediately
above this message, and you are not automatically directed
to the Main Menu, you may need to have your Windows 2000
security level upgraded to Power User. Please contact your
Windows 2000 Administrator or Customer Support for
assistance.

Your second question would be solved by your first.

If you don't know how to change your security setting, you probably
shouldn't. You are working under a "user" account for a reason.

Hi Carl,

Logoff, then logon as administrator.

Start/run 'control userpasswords2'

On the first tab, select your account, then click properties. Go the group
membership tab, click "other" and select power user from the dropdown.
