Their website has had some issues lately.

Its Up, its down...etc, etc.

I did manage to get through a few times to see this message:

Shipping Info Congratulations! You've completed the number of Webcasts
required to receive a free, fully-licensed copy of Windows Vista Business.
Once we've confirmed that you meet the eligibility requirements stated in
the offer details below we will ship your gift within 6-8 weeks of the
release to manufacturing of Windows Vista. While you're waiting, why not
check out additional Webcasts to further your skills?

Power Together is *OVER* Gary even though they said Feb. 28

You have to remember that disingenuous and Microsoft are synonyms. MSFT did
make the promise to continue the program until February 28 but they cut it
off. Every MSFT employee, however little they read, has been made to
memorize the quote from Emerson that "Consistency is the hobgoblin of little
minds."

I've seen them change their minds several times in the course of a coupld
days. They are passive agressive bullies in many respects, and they often
overstep, get their asses kicked in court and then back down like the
cowards they often are.

The European Union, one of the most poorly handled peaces of litigation by
individuals who were allowed into a law school has to be a real Brad Smith
career trophy. It's hemorrhaged about a billion for MSFT share holders, and
seems to be the gift from Brad Smith, Steve Ballmer, and Kevin Johnson that
never stops giving.

This morning's New York Times reports that the offer is over. If they're
right it is. If they aren't then it isn't.

They could change their mind again though.

They have enough webcasts thoughout the kingdom of Technet, MSDN, etc. to
further your skills whatever there are and you should enjoy them. Why also
not check out some MSDN Radio 9 videos?
Ed Bott's Windows Vista Inside Out will hit shelves soon. Ed put a big week
in on it last week.

You can use all these resources to power together some help for your
learning curves.

I've reprinted the article here for your convenience. Even if they don't
offer anymore freebies as an incentive for you to enhance your education
toward Vista and Office products, you're healthy and you have an MCE so you
could earn the money to buy them. Your not in Iraq staying the course like
your brilliant President wants to where it might be harder to earn the money
or even get the power on to use Vista or Office Systems 2007.

At this point, I'd like to give a shout out to the Bush twins who were
reported to be running nude in an Argentina hotel and asked to leave. I'd
call that staying the course until they score ..... a victory for sure.

Microsoft reaches limit on Vista, Office giveaway
Ina Fried, for News.com
It sounded like a scam: visit this Web site, watch a few videos and get a
free copy of Windows Vista or Office 2007.

Actually, the PowerTogether.com site was a legitimate Microsoft-run site.
Aimed at software developers and architects, the site offered free copies of
both titles to those who watched at least three Web-based seminars on each
of the new products.

Unfortunately, for those looking to score their free copy, Microsoft said
that it has already received sign-ups from the 30,000 people it had hoped to
register for the program. The site now says "sold out" when people come to
register for the giveaway.

Those left out in the cold can take some solace. At least they don't have to
pay taxes. Those who are getting both the free Office and Vista copies will
have to fill out an IRS tax form--and eventually pay Uncle Sam--to get both
titles.

"Since the combined retail value of the products is above $600 retail for
developers who chose to participate in both offers, the IRS requires
Microsoft to have the developers send back a signed W9 form before they
receive the second item," a Microsoft representative said.

The site also warns government employees that they should consult their
ethics policies before accepting the freebies. Microsoft drew the ire of the
Army and some other U.S. agencies in 2004 when it sent free copies of Office
to federal workers.

Microsoft started selling Office 2007 and Vista to businesses this week,
however the software won't be on retail shelves and new PCs until January.

Good luck,

Within 6-8 weeks of the RTM... sounds like they are shooting for very near
Christmas!
