"Power policy manager unable to reserve the hibernate file"

I couldn't find a solution to this problem by searching
groups.google.com:

So I had to figure it out myself. This dialog pops up preventing me
from enabling hibernation: "Power policy manager unable to reserve the
hibernate file." I previously had reinstalled Windows. This left the
file hiberfil.sys in the root directory, C:\. Just delete that file.
It's pretty stupid really, Microsoft.
