Power Point hangs up

Running Windows XP, Office 2007 , SP2.
::
:: After applying SP2, Every time I try to open for edit a PPT imbedded
Excel chart, PPT
:: locks up, reports error to MS , saves and restarts. No one in my
:: office can open these imbedded excel files without similar results

I just learned about this option. May be worth a try.

Open PowerPoint.

Choose Office Button | Open and navigate to the problem file.

The Open button has a little arrow beside it. Click the arrow and choose
Open and Repair.

Save the file.

Does that resolve it?

Open and Repair not help to me.

I just learned about this option. May be worth a try.

Open PowerPoint.

Choose Office Button | Open and navigate to the problem file.

The Open button has a little arrow beside it. Click the arrow and choose
Open and Repair.

Save the file.

Does that resolve it?

Does uninstalling SP2 resolve it?

Oh, also try running Office Diagnostics. It's in Office Button | PPT Options
| Resources.
