When i go to insert a .WMA file into Powerpoint 2000 i
recive the following error.

PowerPoint couldn't insert a movie from the selected file.
Either the file is non-standard, or QuickTime is not
installed properly.

Quciktime movies work fine. Its only .WMA s.

Ok, then head to
http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/multimedia.htm and read
through that very carefully so you have a better understanding of how PPT
handles multimedia.

After you've read all the tutorial, go back to section 3 and make sure that
your INI or registry settings match those listed for your version of
Windows. I suspect something (maybe QuickTime) has hijacked your settings.

In addition to Echo's pointers, what version of Windows are you running and
what version of Windows Media Player is installed? Did you create the WMA's
or did they come from some other source?

This file was given to me.
I have checked out the MCI and codes.. everything looks
good. The file is a WMA file. Is there anything elese to
check??

Yes. If the file was created in WMP 9 and you have WMP 8 installed on your
system, the file will/may not play or insert. Since it isn't working for
you, find out what version was used to create the file.
