PPT 4.0 isn't an upgrade qualifier for any of the current versions. You'll
be better off just starting new with a full version.

To be clear, the usual rule of thumb for upgradeability is 2 versions.
Here's the order of release:

PPT 4.0
PPT 95
PPT 97
PPT 2000
PPT 2002 (aka PPT XP)
PPT 2003

So PPT 97 *might* let you use an upgrade version, but I wouldn't swear to
it. If it does, to become even close to current, you'd have to use a PPT 97
Upgrade and then turn around and upgrade that using a PPT 2002 (aka PPT XP)
Upgrade. By the time you do all that, you can probably just purchase the
full version of PPT 2003 and be done with it.
