Press the WInKey+R type in: powercfg.cpl
or
Start | Run <type in> powercfg.cpl <enter>

Hi
Tried that but still nothing

Enter the BIOS - and see if you can disable ACPI (or any related power
options). That would stop your power management from kicking in, maybe
allowing you time to fix the problem

Disabling ACPI could cause an unbootable condition. The computer
driver ( ACPI HAL ) is likely to BSOD when the BIOS is set for a
Non-ACPI or Standard PC configuration. Worse case it might cause
XP to re-enumerate all devices because of the change in HAL.

In my defense I did try to cancel that message. Their problem just
wasn't worth the attempt.

Ooops sorry guys, got a llittle lost in that info.
I have just found out that I have power options by ACER but i have not used
these before or changed anything. If I do try to use the acer options a pop
up saying EPM-DM application is not running.

It appears I have fixed it. I went into search EPM-DM and clicked on the
symbol for it an am now using acer power management which appears to be
working (still I was not using it before..Just windows.
Anyway thanks
