I have seen a couple of posts for each of these two problems.
1. Windows requests that an application "Power Meter" be terminate on
shutdown.
2. System Process is running 50% CPU utilization without flucuation.
I have an IBM X206 server that has both of these problems. I was
unable to find any resolution to these issues other than the standard
S&D, Adware, Antivirus fix. It appears that Power Meter (whatever it
is) is trying to in a state during startup that doesn't completely
start. I assume that this is the application that is causing the 50%
constant usage but because there is no process running for it, no
application running, windows classifies it as system. I'm looking for
some insite on how I can get rid of this "Power Meter" application
from running during startup.
I saw some instance in 2003 (Microsoft KB) about updating the
wbemcore.dll. Verified that wbemcore.dll is on file version .100
which is newer than the file in the article.
Server is running W2k-Server SP4. Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks.
Brian.
