Power Management problem ?

My Dell laptop goes in to standby automatically as per power settings,but
won't then go into hibernation FROM the standby mode.Any ideas ?

Do you think it's supposed to do that automatically?

I think - and I could be wrong - that you choose what the end result
will be and then be happy with that.

If you want it to hibernate, choose that in your power settings.
