Power DVD quit working

Power DVD has stopped working since I've applied several
updates from Microsoft to XP home edition. I loads then
hangs trying to load a DVD. Windows Media player can
still play DVD's as long as Power DVD is installed. I
tried uninstalling and reinstalling Power DVD, no change.
