power down and modem

i am not to sure how to go about saying this but here goes. i have got a
computer that has got winxp home edition with a internal modem which the
modem is my way of connecting to the internet and its on the same line that
the phone uses. the problem is when the phone rings the computer starts up
all by itself. i am not to sure what is going on. can someone plse advise me
if this is normal and if so how can i stop this from happening is there some
settings. plse help................thks

In your BIOS, disable Wake on Ring or Lan.....
