Power consumption of video cards

How does one estimate for a video card how much power is consumed for
each voltage? I looked at the "Tech Specs" at the nVidia site and they
don't seem to describe the power consumptions of their cards. Really I
can hardly believe it. It's not hard to find power specs for other
components (CPU, drives, etc.). How is somebody supposed to specify a
power supply?
