power button not workin?

Hello

what can be the reason if the power button (connected to mb) is not workin
I have included the power management application to control the systemstate manualy. I included the power control panel and I can bring it up with "control powercfg.cpl". If I set "When I press the power button of my computer" to "Shut Down", apply the changes and press the powerbutton, nothing happens! The problem is, this worked in earlier releases so I think it isnt driver/bios related
any1 can help?

If this is minlogon build it does not handle power button.

I have posted solution long time ago to this news group so you can use
google to find it.

Let us know is this minlogon, or winlogon.

Ok I found your article with your piece of code. Is there any possibility to get a compiled binary from somewhere
Btw I found various MSDN article describing minlogon AND the use of the powerbutton....

It was intended to be used in application.
I don't have a binary that does this as a standalone app.

sorry he deosn't state that minlogon will work together with power button. I misunderstood the "You are Getting Sleepy.." part :

I'm kinda n00b to windows software development, but I'm going to learn a bit about message capturing. Since I need this functionality in a current project I will craft an application which allows to capture powerbutton events and react to them in a minlogon environment

I'm going to post a link if there's any success ;
