Pound sign on keyboard

When I press shift and 3 on my keyboard, I get a hash sign (#) instead of a
pound sign. How can I change this?
 
Hi

Go to Control Panel>Regional and Language Options. Make sure that all menus
and submenus on all three tabs are set to the same option - English (United
Kingdom)

Interesting. In the U.S., we call the hash sign (#)
the "pound sign".

Pound sign (£) , as in Dollar sign ($)

On an English (US) keyboard, you make one pressing Alt-0163
