Today while unsubcribing from a scam email, a window automatically
popup saying that 'down load is beginning and....'. I closed this
window download (don't know what is it?) before it is finsihed. Now I
got PotwBar appears on my IE. I down load the lastest version of
Ad-aware and scan my harddrive with Ad-aware. I followed through with
Ad-aware instructions, it found 47 files and objects in my window
register. Ad-aware quarantine all objects for me. I reboot system
and open IE (version6). The damn Potwbars is still appears on my IE.
I manually remove potwbar (the offender) from \Program Files\Dynamic
Toolbar\potwbar. Reboot system but that damn Potwbar still reappears.
It doesn't matter what I did and tried to remove it, it reappears
over and over on \Program Files\Dynamic Toolbar\potwbar and on IE.
The toolbar is called "Fun and Games" and has the extension
potwbar.dll.
Is anyone run into this spyware? How can I get rid of this
godforsaken damn thing?
Any advice is appreciated.
Best Regards,
