When posting a postitem with word attachment to a folder, word document
looses it's template's macro functionality. What can be done?

Refer to :Opening Word Template containing script from Public Folder in
Outlook General

Let me make sure I understand the scenaro: Are you saying that when the user opens the attachment from the post item, all macros that you would expect to work with the attached document no longer work? Are these macros associated with the document or with a template? If the latter, where is the template file located?

That's exactly is my question: where should the template be placed?
I did the creation of the document the way you suggested: using a custom
form with attached template and script that kicks Word and create a document
based on this template. After user make changes and save the doc, i have to
post it back to the public folder, so i made it as postitem with attachment,
hoping that this will work, but it still looses macro functionality.

I'm still trying to understand your exact symptoms. You're saying that the document created from the template and stored back in the public folder doesn't fire macros? Do you mean all macros don't work? Or only Auto* macros?

there are no auto* macros, there is a document_close macro that does not fire
after posting to the folder neither as Word document no as postitem with Word
attachment.
