Someone is posting to these forums using my name, C.B. Your opinions are not
my opinions so I would appreciate it very much if you would cease and desist.

If you choose to continue using my name I will change my name to something
else as I don't appreciate the fact that people will associate your comments
with my name.

Have a nice day.

C.B.

This is a public forum and there is no policing of these things. Read some
of the posts and see how crazy it gets sometimes.

On the other hand, suppose his name is the same as yours? He could say that
you are using his name!

Are you C.B. or CB.

I only see one post on the MS server where the sender is CB. This is the
other person I'm assuming, and the post was from this past Saturday I
believe.

Your posts don't show up as CB here, the from field shows as:

=?Utf-8?B?Q0I=?= <[email protected]>

Of course, that's because XNews doesn't support Utf display.

How many posts to do you see from this other CB ?

(But......of course there is nothing you can do about it, as Bill stated.)

C.B. sounds more like initials or a nick.
In any case, because of the nature of these newsgroups it is possible
more than one can share the same name without any malicious intent.

If there is no malicious intent, there is very little you can do other
tan change your name.

If you change your name, please let us know. How else will we know who to
associate your comments with. But then the fake C.B. could change his name
to your new name. Never mind...this just isn't going to work. Don't tell
us...

CB

'CB' is not a name, it's a handle or an alias. It may be your initials
or......

Anyone in the world, with an internet connection, can post to these
newsgroups and I doubt that anyone would check to see if their handle is
being used by another poster. If you want to prevent this, make your handle
very unique, like 'CB in Dallas' 'CB!!!' or something else that would not
likely be used by someone else.

You can be forty-seven...its back in the pool of names.
Also, tweak-my-nose is available.

All other names are taken.

Maybe he can be forty-nine

That was a bad advice. There quite a few CBs in Dallas. For one thing I am
one of them. I just pretend to be AlexB, temporarily.
