Hi, My Norton keeps showing me that xaushell.exe is attempting to access the
Internet. It says that it is high risk. It says that it is high risk based
on the following: Threat Type-No Virus, Digitally signed-No, Traffic
Direction-Outbound. I keep telling Norton to always block it, but the box
telling me it's trying to access the Internet keeps coming up about 5 seconds
after I tell Norton to block it. Is this high risk? Should I be blocking it?

Thanks Dana

1= Not just blocking it but remove it if you didn't install it, try to go to
Add/Remove programs and see if it there and remove, also search for it's
entries on your Hard Disk and remove them.
Scan for Malwares on your computer by downloading this tool:
And also for malwares from here:
http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php
http://www.safer-networking.org ; for Spybot S&D

2= If all fail download the Hijackthis and send the report to one of many
forums for analysis and troubleshooting:
When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. Post
your log to http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30,
http://castlecops.com/forum67.html,
http://forums.subratam.org/index.php?showforum=7, or other appropriate
forums for expert analysis, not here.
Please perform one step (1,2,) at a time and see if that will help your
issue.
HTH.
Please let us know.

Wow, I'm impressed. I'm not sure if I'm capable of what you instructed but
I'll give it a shot! Now the sound is gone on my machine. I wonder if
that's related.

Thanks so much for your help.

Dana
