Possible to attach an excel sheet to a recurring calendar event ..

I have a recurring calendar event which has an excel attachment. the
attachment is constantly being changed. My question is, when the calendar
event occurs, is there a way to have the attachment constantly updated?
 
Instead of attaching the file for each recurrence why not put a general link
to it instead? Place it on a location all attendees can reach.
