possible conflicts with Roxio EMC8

Has anybody ran into issues when using EMC8 and trying to burn cd's using the
built in feature of XP?
I installed a DVD burner and all the features work just fine.
However I can't burn cd's using XP's built in feature it keeps telling me
the burner is busy.
So I'm assuming that EMC 8 is causing a conflict of some type.
what do you think?
