Positioning several graphics on different pages

Hello!

I wondered whether there is a possibility to position several graphics
on different slides in Powerpoint by a script or something like that.

Let us assume we got 50 slides. On each of these slides we want to
include a graphic (e.g. jpg file) on the exact same position. In
addition, these graphics have not the correct size, so that we must
change the width and height of the pictures.

Doing this by hand, is a long-lasting activity :)

So, does anyone know a trick how I can do this more sophisticated?

Best regards,

Hi Thomas

You need to add the graphic to the slide master and then it will appear on
all your slides. Either View->Master->Slide Master or hold the shift key
while you click on the Normal View button in the bottom left hand corner.

As for altering the size of the graphic you may want to use graphic editing
software. However, by double clicking on the image you can alter its size
etc. using the format picture dialogue box. After doing that I would
strrogly recommend that you cut the graphic and edit->paste special->jpeg or
png it back in (this will keep the file size down).

Hope that helps.

PS There is a free training course here:

masters (how useful it is depends on your version of PowerPoint)

If you have PowerPoint 2002 or 2003, you could use PowerPoint's photoalbum
functionality: Insert - Image - New Photo Album.

:) don't worry - sometimes lunch time must supported by drink. Just
kidding.

Meanwhile, I figured out a way to solve my problem a little bit faster.
I insert the first graphic on the first slide and mark it. Then I start
recording a macro. Now I change to the properties of the graphic and
change position and size and confirm OK.
Stopping macro!

Now I only need to mark a graphic on a slide and play the macro.....and
it is positioned and sized correctly.

Important is, to mark the first graphic before starting the record -
otherwise only this graphic can be changed by the macro.

Check this out:
"BATCH IMPORT images into PowerPoint"

And if you know anything about scripting, you will find several options in
the VBA code that is referenced there that will help you adjust the size
and position.

Try the free PPTools StarterSet. One of the tools lets you "memorize" the size
and position of a shape (your first picture after you've inserted and sized it,
for example) and another lets you "hammer" any other shape to that
size/position.
