Hi I cannot find ports(COM and LPT) thread in my device
manager. I have a modem installed but i dont have anything
called as ports(COM and LPT) in my device manager
 
What kind of computer do you have, laptop or desktop? How
old is it? Do you know the make/model of motherboard?

COM ports are serial ports, typically DB-9 and the LPT port
is the large parallel printer port. Many newer computers no
longer include these, using USB and Firewire instead.

Even if the ports are physically present they may be
disabled in the BIOS and thus would not show in device
manager.
