Run the command which comes with XP, called "netstat". See "netstat /h"
for details of the switches. Run in a "command prompt" box.

Anohther thing to consider running is from "outside" through your
firewall. For that consider Gibson's www.grc.com "shields up".

Peter:

Run netstat -an cmd to see which ports are open w/o consideration of the
affect of your firewall.

To see which ports on open to the public (on the outside of your firewall):
Connect another computer to the WAN port of your system, and run SuperScan
against that WAN port.

You can use one of the web site scanners to check some of the more popular
open ports. I generally use grc.com's Shields Up.
