Is is possible to be popup free?? I have used google
toolbar, yahoo toolbar, msn toolbar, aol toolbar, 12
Ghosts, Stopzilla. The popups are not "messenger
service". I have Sygate firewall, Norton anti-virus,
Spyware Blaster, Adaware, and all is up to date. Still
popup madness. Have had Zonealarm firewall, and Spybot
search and destroy, still popups. Thanks --Am I
expecting too much to be popup free??.

Maybe you're talking about the free versions of ZoneAlarm, Ad-aware, etc.
I use the paid versions of ZoneAlarm, Ad-aware, etc., and take many other
precautions (I don't surf the web using the Administrator account, and I
don't visit filthy porn sites), and I have not had any virus, worm, or
Trojan infections.

Although I'm speaking from the viewpoint of a newbie who reads thoroughly
(i.e. some knowledge with little experience), I have come to realize that
paid versions of products often are proactive about filtering out infectious
pests. On the other hand, free versions of products often are reactive, and
only intended to detect and remove infections After the damage is Already
Done.

For example, the free version of ZoneAlarm and Ad-aware do Not proactively
filter out pop-ups and spyware. However, Ad-aware is good for detecting and
removing infections After the damage is Already Done. On the other hand,
the paid versions of ZoneAlarm Pro and Ad-aware Plus filter out pop-ups and
spyware Proactively, because they remain active in memory.

Think you're getting a bargain, when you get something for free. There's
always a catch. As with many things in life, it often comes down to whether
you want to (a) save money and lose time (downtime), or (b) same time and
pay a little extra.
