Popups

Hi, I just got WinXP PRO and i was hoping there would be
no more popups from the messenger, but, there is, and i
dont really want to pay 20-40 dollars for a popup blocker
becuase how am i supposed to know if it ACTUALLY works or
not...So, is there any other way to get rid of these
popups then buying a so-called "popup killer"? thanks

Pop-ups are driving me nuts. I also do not want to have
to buy a program to fix this. What in the world was
Microsoft thinking about building this into these
programs? I have Windows XP home edition.
