Populate table from File Folder.

Is it possible to populate a table with links to files in
folders? in otherwords... i want to connect a folder to
a table, so that the table will hold the name of the file
and link to the file. also will it recognize new files
that are added? I am guessing that i will have to code
something into the on-open property so that it checks the
folder... is something like this possible?
 
ive been looking through his stuff but im not finding
anything like this. is it called something else? I will
keep searching..
