POP3 not working for GMAIL

While setting up my gmail account I don't succeed however hotmail account is
working. I had followed all the steps. Is it possible that I might had been
restricted by the administrator only for gmail and not for hotmail???

Did you follow Google's setup instructions at their Gmail account for
setting up your e-mail client? Did you make sure that you actually
enabled the POP3 feature in the server-side options?
