Hi,

This might be a pretty easy one, but can't nut it out.

Is there a way to have mail from a POP3 account come into a Public Folder?

We have an external mail account hosted offsite and would like to have
it so all people in the office can view the mail in a Public Folder.

Cheers

Yes, are you using Exchange via Small Business Server or standalone?

You'll need a program to collect pop3 mail (comes with SBS) and mail enable
the public folder.

Hi Diane,

Sorry forgot to mention those details (d'oh). We are running Exchange
via SBS 2003.

If it's not too much of a hassle can you run through the steps i need to
follow in order to get this working?

Cheers

Open the system manger - if you use the SBS Server Manager interface, it's
under Advanced Management, [Server name] (Exchange), Folders. Right click,
add a folder then r-click again and mail enable it (you may receive an alert
that the folder is already mail enabled - if so you can skip this step for
future folders). Open properties and write down the SMTP address that is
created for it or create a new SMTP address.

From looking at the pop3 connector, it looks like it can't handle pulling
mail into the public folders, only mailboxes. I don't know offhand if there
is a trick to make the SBS connector use a public folder - - I use one
called popbeamer that delivers to public folders and never had to try. For a
list of pop connectors for exchange, see

Hi Diane,

Thanks for this! In regards to the pop connector in SBS, could i not
have the pop'd mail redirect to a mailbox and then forward all mail from
that mailbox to the public folder or something similar?
