hi

I have spyware. i am running windows 98 se and IE 6

i have run spybot, adware se and cws shredder (i usually get host file
redirections). i have run hijack this posted my logs on aumha.org and tried
to fix on my own.

I dodnt really know much, but i have spent hours and hours searching for
ways to get rid of my spyware. I would like help deleting things from my
computer. When i look in my cdrive i see thousands of files and folders i
dont recognize. I have tried deleting things, but had to recover my hard
drive using goback...

I feel like i should just buy a new computer to save myself from all of
these problems.

Please help if you can

If you buy a new computer it will just happen again.
What type of spyware do you have? What is your system doing?
Aumha.org should provide you with expert help although it may take longer
than you wish it to. The people there are experts at dealing with this type
of problem
I'm sure that they seen it before,check back there often to see if you have
any answers. Good luck



Sometimes,when you remove malware it will stop your TCP/IP
stack from working (Internet connection).
Winsock or LSP-fix will correct the problem,Download first.
Note to anyone using NOD32 Anti-Virus software,Do Not delete the

To help stop unauthorized downloads via your activex controls change your
default settings.
These settings are good for XP. The wording should be close for other systems
as well.
Go to control panel and open "internet options.
Click on the security tab then custom level.
make sure these settings are as follows.

Download signed active x controls>set to prompt
Download unsigned active x controls>set to disable
Initialize and script active x controls not marked as safe>set to disable
Run active x controls and pluggins>set to enable
Script active x controls marked safe for scripting>set to enable
Java permissions>set to high
Launching programs and files in a IFRAME" > Prompt
