ive done this before in a report, but its not working. i have the following
in a report header. it is unbound text box ="Loans from " & [enter date
range] it gives me an error message microsoft jet engine database
does not recognize [enter date range] as a valid field name or expression

Is there a crosstab query involved in your report? Could you share the SQL
view of the report's record source?

yes there is a crosstab involved is that the problem you cant do a pop up
with a crosstab

You can do a pop up. You need to provide the data type of the parameters in
crosstab queries.

Note: you ignored my second question so I can't provide the exact syntax.
