Pop Up Reminder

Does anybody know of a good, free, straight forward, easy to use pop up
reminder?

It is not for me, it is for the Gaffer.
His computer is about two years old, running XP I think - but he does not
know!
Gaffer thinks that I am good with computers

ATnotes http://atnotes.fr.st/ An excellent "sticky notes" app. that will
popup reminders at will (my fav)
