Pop up blocker - can't turn it off

I installed SP2 and now I can't turn the @#$%!! pop up blocker off! According
to the Tools menu - it's not on! It's still blocks downloads from a site that
I had added to the Favored list among others.

This is crap! I'm about to switch back to Netscape.

Hi LeoB :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

The popup blocker that is installed with SP2 is simple to turn on and off
and is turned on by default. It shows down in the status bar of IE, and a
simple right click gives you the option to enable/disable the blocker. One
nice feature is that you can enable/disable popups for certain sites rather
than just arbitrarily enable or disable them for all sites.

If does not resolve your problem, or you need help with the above,
please post back to this thread with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

I searched this forum before asking about this. There is nothing on the IE
Staus Bar having to do with PUB. As I said - I turned it OFF from the toolbar
to no avail.

Hi Leo :)

You might try this and see if it works:

How to Enable Pop-ups:

The above issue can occur, if you have not enabled ActiveX scripts or java
scripts.

Try enabling the scripts in IE by following the steps given below:

1.Open IE and click Tools and select Internet Options.
2.Click Security and click Custom level.
3.Scroll down the tab and enable all the options under "Activex control
and plugins".
4.Also enable the options under "Java VM" in the scroll list.
5.Click Ok.

Hope this helps
