Pop Up Alert of New Email Message

How do I turn off the pop up announcement that appears
when I am trying to write an email or even while I'm
producing a document on MS Word? A pop up announcement
alerting me that a new message has been received comes on
and interrupts my work until I acknowledge receipt of the
pop up.Thanks to anyone out there who can help me with
this one.
 
You can disable this by going to;
Tools -> Options -> tab Preferences -> button E-mail Options -> button
Advanced E-mail Options
