Pop Up Ads

I clicked on a link in a friend's instant messenger
profile and I was able to delete most of the
inappropriate items that had been downloaded to my
computer. However, I am continuing to get inappropriate
pop up ads when I am NOT on the Internet. If someone
could help me with this problem, it would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks

Sounds as if your system has been invaded by spyware. Download and install
and run Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy - then keep them updated.
They are both free.

Is it your experience that both are needed? I seem to be having problems
with various barnacles that attach to my machine and have tried each one at
different times, but never together.
