pop up adds

when I start Internet Explorer, two separate websites
pop up in a box...says www.atoque.com and
www.manupulatingtheicesurface.com

then it changes to pop up adds if I am online..

seems this is built into IE now because it pops up when I
start IE, even if I am offline..then it says web site not
found.

how can I eliminate this?

In general to secure your internet browsing install a firewall - many are free for
personal use, use a pop up blocker - Google toolbar is free and work great, never
lower your web content zone security below medium, and periodically run a parasite
detection and removal program such as AdAware. If you do all that, your popups should
almost be totally eliminated. See the links below including the one on parasites and
how to deal with them including where to get AdAware. --- Steve
