Pop Sound at random intervals on desktop or IE PLEASE HELP!!

I have just started getting a pop sound at random intervals. When this
happens the start bar displays itself but there is NO error message
displayed.
The sound is like a popup being stopped.


I have scanned the system with NOD32, AVG, XOFTSPY, SPYWARE DR, SPYBOT
SEARCH AND DESTROY, ADAWARE SE, and found nothing. and rootkit killer.

It's driving me nuts.

I have cleared the drives, tried everything I can think of, and still the
infernal POPS


Please somone help.

Control Panel, Sounds and audio, sounds tab, scroll down the list of events
to "Menu Popup" and set to 'none'.

Thanks for the help. Giving it a try now, but the menu popup was already
set to NONE, but found the same sound on system notification. Have turned
that off.
