Poor Windowed Pc Cases?

What's the deal with all the windowed PC cases? Unless you want to
spend an extra ton of money on neon and LED fans (and want more radio
interference) seeing a rats nest of wires does not impress me. Hell
if I want to look at the insides of a PC so bad couldn't I just mount
it all to a piece of plywood and save the money from buying a case? I
want to build a PC but everytime I find a case I like, it only comes
with the window in the side. You used to have to pay extra for the
window. Now the selection of PC cases without a window is minimal.

Then learn to route the wires so they're hidden.

Antec, Enlight, and Cheiftec make lots of cases without windows.

Raidmax, good cases for the price.

I don't like windowed cases either. Every time I see one, it reminds
me of a display model or something for instructional/classroom use.
The windowed cases are a fad, and that's where people are spending
their money. The PC builder loses, the seller gains.

I bought a windowed Enermax case only because it contained a 350W
Enermax PSU and was supposed to cost just $10 after $50 rebate (still
waiting for the $50). I don't like plastic windows, either, not just
because of the RF leakage but also because acrylic is one of the most
flammable plastics (I asked Enermax if they used fire retardant
acrylic, but they've ignored every inquiry). I tried installing the
window opposite the mobo tray so it would be blocked by metal, but the
stupid window screws stuck in too far to allow this, so I ended up
replacing the window with a piece of metal.

You're missing the point. You put a windows on a PC because you DON'T have
a rat's nest of wires. i.e. the inside of your case looks very neat and
high tech to the point where you want to look at it.

Similar "artsy" designs have already been done.

That is just plain ridiculous. I don't know where you're looking, but
window cases are definitely in the minority. They tend to be more common on
enthusiast, heavily-modded-style web sites.
